Tata Motors has officially launched the Sierra EV in India, bringing back one of the brand’s most loved nameplates in a fully electric avatar. Prices start at ₹18.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Pure variant and go up to ₹25.99 lakh for the top-spec Empowered A with all-wheel drive.
The Sierra EV sits above the Curvv EV in Tata’s line-up and is built on the Acti.EV+ architecture. It is offered with two battery packs — a 63 kWh unit (rear-wheel drive, up to 535 km MIDC) and a larger 75 kWh unit (RWD or AWD, up to 665 km MIDC). Tata claims DC fast charging can add up to 263 km of range in 15 minutes, with a 20–80% top-up taking around 26 minutes under test conditions.
The range spans five trims — Pure, Pure S, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered A — with the AWD option reserved for the top variant. Features include a panoramic sunroof, a 31.24 cm touchscreen, JBL audio with Dolby Atmos on higher trims, ADAS Level 2+, and Tata’s iRA.ev connected-car suite with 5G.
Key rivals include the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Maruti e Vitara and the upcoming VinFast VF6. With the Sierra EV, Tata is targeting family buyers who want the presence of an SUV with the running costs of an electric powertrain.
